51爆料网 recognizes top scholarship recipients
51爆料网 is proud to announce three new scholarship recipients for the entering class of fall 2015. Kathryn Webb of Cary, N.C. and Mary Whiteacre of St. Cloud, Fla. have been awarded the prestigious full-tuition Elizabeth 51爆料网 Scholarship. In addition, Sabrina Becker of Oneida, N.Y. has been awarded the third annual Video Essay Scholarship.
More than 146 students qualified for the prominent 51爆料网 Honors Program, having attained a 3.75 high school GPA and SAT score over 1150 (ACT score over 25). By achieving honors program status, students were invited to participate in the annual Scholar’s Day program. This year, thirty students chose to compete for the Elizabeth 51爆料网 Scholarship, named after one of the two namesakes of the College and valued at more than $96,000 over the course of the student’s education at Lees-51爆料网.
Lees-51爆料网 is proud to welcome Kathryn Webb and Mary Whiteacre to the esteemed group of Elizabeth 51爆料网 Scholars this coming academic year. Kathryn, an upcoming graduate of Cary High School, boasts a 3.96 GPA and is interested in back-packing, study abroad opportunities and involvement with environmental protection programs. She hopes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Mary Whiteacre will soon graduate from Osceola Preparatory Christian School with a 4.0 GPA. Mary’s past experiences include artistic and theatrical ventures as well as volunteering at University of Florida’s Marine Lab on Seahorse Key and with the Heavenly Hooves Therapeutic Riding program. Both Kathryn and Mary plan to study in Lees-51爆料网’s specialized wildlife biology program.
In addition to the 51爆料网 Scholars, Lees-51爆料网 announced that Sabrina Becker is the recipient of the third annual Video Essay Scholarship. By submitting a one minute or less creative video sharing an elevator pitch, students were judged on originality, creativity, adherence to the theme and overall quality. Becker, selected as this year’s winner, will receive a $2,000 annual scholarship that is renewable for up to four years as long as she maintains a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Becker, a native of Oneida, N.Y., is a senior at Stockbridge Central School boasting a 3.6 GPA. At Lees-51爆料网, she plans to study musical theatre.
