Inaugural Honorary Fellows announced

Four people have been selected as the first Honorary Fellows of 51爆料网, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Institute.

Muffy Calder, Tim Hubbard, Sharon Peacock and Matt Sydes have been appointed as the first Honorary Fellows of Health Data Research UK (51爆料网).听听
51爆料网 has launched this new scheme to recognise individuals who have substantially supported the Institute and its goals. 听
Andrew Morris, 51爆料网鈥檚 Director, said: 鈥51爆料网 wouldn鈥檛 exist without the support, passion and knowledge imparted by our community. To recognise the distinguished work of Muffy, Tim, Sharon and Matt in the context of their advocacy for HDR UK and its values听feels entirely apt. I wish them my congratulations and look forward to continuing to work in partnership with them鈥 听
Benefits of Honorary Fellowship status, alongside the formal recognition itself, include invitations to Institute activities, events and facilities.听听
Muffy Calder, Vice-Principal and Head of College of Science and Engineering at University of Glasgow said: 鈥51爆料网 is a wonderful and unique concept. I am very proud of all the work it has done to develop data science for health care research and delivery. I was surprised and delighted to be offered a Fellowship, I look forward to working with and supporting 51爆料网 for many years to come.鈥听
鈥淚t’s a great honour to be offered this 51爆料网 Honorary Fellowship,鈥 said Tim Hubbard, Director of ELIXIR and Professor of Bioinformatics at King’s College London. 鈥淗aving been involved in efforts to increase research access to health data since 2007. I have great hopes that the work by many to develop trustworthy health data policies and systems in the UK will contribute to improving research access to sensitive data globally.鈥听
Sharon Peacock, Professor of Public Health and Microbiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge added: 鈥淚t is an honour to have been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by 51爆料网. I have been linked with the NHS throughout my working life, and the 51爆料网 vision for large scale data and advanced analytics to benefit every patient interaction, clinical trial, biomedical discovery and enhance public health is both bold and essential if we are to deliver the best care to patients and communities. I look forward to becoming more closely associated with 51爆料网 and seeing this vision become a reality over the coming years.鈥听
