Chioma is an MSc data science student at City St George’s, University of London, with an undergraduate background in neuroscience and psychology from King’s College London. Her interest in healthcare has shaped most of my academic choices, leading her to spend my placement year at a CAMHS Research Unit, where she saw first-hand how data analysis shapes clinical services and patient outcomes. This convinced her to pursue data science as the tool to work within healthcare meaningfully.

Since then, Chioma has consistently explored health as the lens for her technical work, across clinical risk modelling, public health data analysis, and using data-driven methods to uncover patterns at the intersection of social and clinical outcomes. Beginning her internship at the NIHR Innovation Observatory on the OpenScan platform, she hopes to apply my skills to real-world health technology and contribute to work that uses data to make healthcare more informed, equitable and forward-looking.
