Gurnoor is a medical student with a strong interest in academic medicine, health data science, and improving patient outcomes through research. This summer, she will be working with the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre on a project exploring causal discovery methods in stroke pathway data and how these approaches can improve trust in healthcare simulations.

Gurnoor is particularly interested in the responsible use of healthcare data, model interpretability, and the translation of research into meaningful improvements in patient care. Through this internship, she hopes to develop her understanding of health data science and gain experience working within an interdisciplinary research team.
