Hiba is a final-year adult nursing student keen to use her years of clinical experience working on the front line, to make meaningful contributions to the field of health data science. Her background in patient care has shaped her passion for preventative healthcare and the potential for data science to identify risk factors and predict disease more effectively. She values the importance of PPIE in order to achieve this, and agrees with Dr Vishal Gulati who says 鈥淭he greatest challenge in modern healthcare isn鈥檛 treating the sick, it鈥檚 engaging the healthy鈥.

Hiba has also completed a software engineering bootcamp, gaining hands-on experience programming in Python and JavaScript, and managing databases on MySQL. This technical foundation has deepened her understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that arise when working with sensitive health data.

Hiba is now eager to expand her skillset and gain experience in an environment where she can merge her interests in healthcare, technology, and research, to improve patient outcomes.
