Jillian Beggs is an experienced public contributor to health data research across the UK. During the pandemic Jillian supported Co-Connect, the COVID-Curated and Open Analysis and Research platform. Co-Connect was a UK-wide research programme supporting researchers to find and access COVID-19 data at pace, whilst ensuring people’s information is kept private and secure.Ìý

Following on from the learning in Co-Connect Jillian worked with University of Dundee to support the development of Alleviate, the UK Pain Data Hub. Alleviate forms part of the Advanced Pain Discovery Platform (APDP) and is making pain data accessible to the research community by transforming UK pain datasets to be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) and is providing expert data engineering, to enhance responsible, timely and trustworthy analysis by researchers and innovators, with the aim to improve lives. Ìý

Jillian has a degree in Geographic Sciences and has worked in commercial leadership roles across the UK and internationally.Ìý

Jillian lives in Northern Ireland where she is Chair of the Encompass Engagement Council and is enthusiastic about ensuring that public voices shape the launch and optimisation of Encompass and the My Care app. She is an active member of the Royal College of General Practitioners Northern Ireland Patient Network.Ìý
