As a penultimate year medical student studying at Barts and the London, witnessing the diverse nature of health equity and representation in healthcare have been key in shaping Koyin’s interests in public health and how this impacts health outcomes. She is excited to partake in this internship as it will enable her to gain hands-on experience working with real-world datasets and develop herunderstanding of how it informs clinical practice.

As well as this, Koyin is keen to expand on her technical and coding skills, and looks forward to learning about the intersection between technical research and healthcare. At the moment, she is particularly interested in women’s and child health research, but believes that health data research will be integral to any future specialty she pursues, and is eager to immerse herself into the experience to get the most out of it.
