Lois is a final year biomedical engineering student at the University of Sheffield. Her passion for people and the environment has inspired her to find projects that bridge healthcare with sustainability including her dissertation which focuses on reducing the carbon emissions associated with healthcare machine learning models.
Her experience in roles ranging from R&D at a medical device company, data analysis at a students’ union to embedded systems engineering at a small start-up has developed a strong understanding of technology and innovation which she hopes to apply to solve real-world healthcare challenges, address healthcare inequalities and drive change that firstly improves patient outcomes.

Through this internship Lois hopes to deepen her experience with data-informed decision making and gain exposure with stakeholder communication.
